Repeating the ultrasonography, and doing Spiral CT-Scan on Liver
It was early at the morning when my mother called me. She was asking me to join them (she and my father) at their home to directly go to there hospital where both my mother's surgeon and oncologist work there. She told me that there would be higher possibility to meet both of them there.
In a couple of minutes I was there, seeing my mother very worried and sad. She told me that she's not slept the whole night having nightmare, and she can't wait more. Again I assured her that everything would be just fine, and in a couple of minutes we headed for hospital.
In half an hour we were at hospital and fortunately the oncologist was there, and we immediately arranged an appointment with him. After checking the results, he suggested us to repeat the ultrasonography right at the hospital to make sure of the result before going ahead. He described his colleague (the other doctor doing the ultrasonography) my mother's situation and asked him to be very precise on this.
In a couple of minutes we had the result which confirmed yesterday's ultrasonography. And like previous times, he couldn't tell us what exact that hypo-echoic area might be. He told me that Ultrasonography method can not be 100% sure about hypo-echoic areas. It needed to be confirmed with a Spiral CT-Scan of liver, and he introduced us to a certified hospital for imaging purposes. I guess it was the same hospital I took my mother's mastectomy samples for hormone analysis.
At the imaging center, after telling them about my mother's background, showing them the analysis results and doctor's note mentioning the emergency case, they told us to be there at after noon. So we returned back a couple of hours later, and they took whatever images needed. But we had to wait two days to get the result! That was the worst part! Again another 48 hours of waiting...
Pray for my mom, please...
