My Mother is Cancer-Free Now! :-)

After so long stressful days, it was such a brilliant day today!

At the morning, while I was getting ready to go take the blood analysis result of my mother, she called me on phone and told me that my father has already done so! She was asking if I could go there to see what the result is since they had no idea. I got ready in a minute and ran there.

In the next few minutes I was queried the medical terms, in analysis result, on the net trying to understand it. Fortunately there were not any bad signs from cancer, but the level of CA 15-3 tumor marker (tumor markers are antigens produced by tumors, and their amounts are very low in normal people). CA 15-3 level was 24 for my mother while the highest possible for normal people is 25 according to what analysis result says. A bit worried I was, but didn't let my mother know about it.

A couple of minutes later I called the oncologist and read him the whole result. He assured me that everything is just normal. He told me that people with tumor in their body would likely have 200 or even higher units of CA 15-3. It seems that even levels of 30-40 are considered normal! While I was quite happy what I was hearing, I asked him to arrange a time for us that we take the recent analysis results all together. I was set for this evening.

A couple of hours later I took my mother to oncologist's clinic and we heard the happiest news we'd heard over the past couple of months... YES, my mother was CANCER-FREE according to the test results! CANCER-FREE... CANCER-FREE... Finally the good days are here, and my mother is extremely happy about the situation :-) She's come a long way from the day we found out about her cancer till today. A long way which has been full of stress for her. But she's been powerful enough to defeat this damn disease with the help of Lord.

And how nice! It's Christmas evening, December 24, 2008... A beautiful day many Christians celebrate. Although, we Armenians are celebrating Christmas on 6th of January but I still love December 24 as well.

Thanks a lot Lord, for all these goodness, for hearing my mom, and for healing her. May all the ill people be healed and get pretty healthy again. Amen!
