Radiotherapy started today!

And today we had another chapter opened for my mother's treatment to be free of cancer… Radiotherapy.

My mom was a bit worried about how it would be, and what side effects it may have while she was happy that Chemotherapy was over. She was deep in thinking in the way to hospital but I could feel she was still as strong as before, with lots of hopes. And I was thinking "Mama! I'm quite sure that you will WIN", a good feeling that I always have when praying and asking Lord to heal my mother.

At the hospital we waited for an hour to see the doctor. After reading the pathology and other analysis results, he carefully examined my mother, the location of mastectomy surgery (I was out of the room at that point) and asked for three special radiotherapy sticker bandages. I was already out, so quickly went and bought them for him. Then he started to calculate the locations where X-Rays should be radiated to, and drew some lines to mark those sections and used those sticker bandages to put some permanent marks (according to my father who was in the room then). It took around half an hour for the doctor to do this, and finally asked my mother to be in waiting room so that her turn for radiation would come.

We waited another half an hour and the radiotherapist called my mother to do the main treatment. I could already feel how stressful my mother was, but keeping herself strong as always.

The radiotherapist gave my mother the necessary instructions, guided her to the radiation room and told her to repose under a big machine.
He left the room and started the radiation for a couple of seconds. Then he paused it, went to the room again, did something with the radiation machine (perhaps changed the settings or so), returned and resumed the radiation for a couple of more seconds. He did this cycle for two more times, and it was done!

When my mother left the room she was looking confident and happy. Perhaps happy to see nothing bad had happened while receiving those powerful X-Ray radiations. She was feeling just fine when I asked her. No need to say that I feel more than happy when I see my mother feeling good :-)

I just pray that the future sessions be as hassle-free as today's!
